Here’s a video I did yesterday (Jan 28 – day 4) of Arya’s puppies – very brief but gives you some idea of what they look like. I will continue to take videos as they grow and will post them here.

This video was shot by my niece Jen and captures the fun that Salukis can have in the snow. I hope you enjoy it.

I hope you will enjoy watching this video of Arya and Ryder – out in the woods and fields around my home. It was a very windy, bright and cold day, but nothing keeps the ‘twins’ from enjoying their time outdoors. I always enjoy our daily walks. To help you identify them, aside from the obvious

Two weeks ago my website was hacked!!! Why on earth anyone would want to spend any amount of timing hacking a Saluki breeder’s website from small town Ontario is beyond me, but hey….who am I to judge how peoples’ minds work. One thing occurs to me though – if the hackers are so smart why not put their talents to good use rather than nefarious use? I know, there’s no answer to that.
Suffice to say after much gnashing of teeth and hair pulling I have the site back up, installed some security to keep hackers at bay (I hope) and learned a lot in the process. Learning by your own mistakes is good right?
The Salukis meanwhile, have patiently listened to my rantings and ravings as I struggled to get everything sorted out and I guess the below image typifies what they thought of the whole shennanigans!

Once again Ryder proves he is a breeder judges’ favourite when he wins his second National Award of Merit at the Saluki Club of America National Specialty held in Lexington, Kentucky in June 2011. Australian judge Stephen Wailes gave Ryder this prestigeous award from a Champion lineup of over 100 Salukis (total entry of over 400).
I am very proud of Ryder’s accomplishments and the accolades that he has received from fellow breeders, whether it be judges or ringside observers. All agree that he meets the Saluki Standard of a moderate hound ‘giving the impression of grace and symmetry and of great speed and endurance coupled with strength and activity to enable it to kill gazelle or other quarry over deep sand or rocky mountains. The expression should be dignified and gentle with deep, faithful, far-seeing eyes.’
