I regularly read Matt Kloskowski’s Lightroom Killer Tips blog and always find useful information for working with my photographs. Today his tips blog sent me over to another blog page called Morethanwords with a fabulous tutorial about making a collage quickly and easily in Abode’s Lightroom. Of course being eager to give it a try I spent a pleasant hour following the tutorial (which was a treat to listen to and watch, it being well thought out and easy to follow), with the resulting collage below. I had spent a pleasant hour today in the fields with Ryder and his Mum Hermione and captured a few fun shots of him on the flat out run, so I incorporated those with some from his puppy days and from last winter et voila….a lovely collage of him running for the sheer joy of doing so. Enjoy.

Ryder testing out new sofa
We had just assembled the new sofa in my office, put the covers on it and were putting away the packing materials. Turned around and there he was, checking it out for comfort, quality and more importantly to see if it went well with his persona. I think you would agree that it certainly does. He is such a ham!

A dreamy image of Arya taken this past year, fast asleep after a long run in the fields. No doubt dreaming of all the bunnies she could have chased if she had actually found any!

I love Fall in all its’ glory – my favourite season of the year. Not only do the Fall colours offer wonderful photographic opportunities in the wood, fields and hills surrounding my home but when you couple those beautiful colours with a Saluki (or two) then you have the ideal recipe for a beautiful photograph.

James Albert Hawkyard
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

We have been truly blessed with two days of remarkable weather here in Ontario. Temperatures in the high teens have meant off with the sweaters, and back on with the T-shirts (which, of course, had been put away for the winter). This bonus weather has meant that those last minute chores that I always procrastinate about have now finally been done. The garden and house are as ready as they can ever be for the winter.
Of course as an added bonus I have been able to get the gang out for more walks than normal for the time of the year, and taking along my trusty Nikon D90 I was able to get some decent images as the Salukis careened around the fields enjoying the weather. An especial capture was this one of Miss Hermione – she truly does enjoy her days in the fields with her children, but not half as much as I enjoy watching her run and play like a two year old again. Only a couple of years ago we thought she would never walk again!

Welcome to our new website. Salukis are my passion, I love to be with them in all facets of their lives, whether its’ snuggling down on the sofa to watch a movie, walking the fields on alert for anything that moves, going to shows to meet up with friends from around the country, or photographing them in all their many moods.
Hopefully you will come back and visit often to check out show news, see the latest images, check out what is happening at Lorrequer or simply browse through the galleries.
See something you like, then feel free to leave a comment. I would love to have dialogue with my fellow Saluki fanciers from around the world.
Enjoy!
